Pahalgam attack fallout: India asks Pakistani nationals to leave

The Indian government has suspended visa services for Pakistani nationals and asked all Pakistani nationals to leave India as their visas stand revoked from April 27, the Hindustan Times reported this evening.
The move comes in the wake of Tuesday's deadly attack on Hindu pilgrims by militants in Pahalgam, in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, territories of which have been claimed by both countries since the Partition in 1947.
At least 26 people died in the attack on April 22.
India's Ministry of External Affairs also advised Indians not to travel to Pakistan, reports the Indian media outlet.
"In continuation of the decisions made by the Cabinet Committee on Security in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack, the Government of India has decided to suspend visa services to Pakistani nationals with immediate effect. All existing valid visas issued by India to Pakistani nationals stand revoked with effect from 27 April 2025. Medical visas issued to Pakistani nationals will be valid only till 29 April 2025," the MEA said in the statement.
The MEA statement further said that all Pakistani nationals currently in India must leave the country before the expiry of the amended visa deadline.
