Army chief returns home after official visit to Qatar

Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman returned home on Monday following his official visit to Qatar, reports UNB.
During the visit, the Army Chief held courtesy meetings and discussions with senior civil and military officials, including the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs, the Minister of State for Interior Affairs, the Chief of Staff of the Qatar Armed Forces, and the Deputy Commander of the Internal Security Forces (Lekhwiya), according to a media release by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Monday noon.
On May 3, the Army Chief paid a courtesy call on Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, President of the Qatar Olympic Committee.
During the meeting, they discussed various issues of mutual interest, including cooperation between the Olympic Committees of both countries, support for sports-related training, the development of bilateral relations, and the possibility of establishing an Olympic Village in Bangladesh.
The following day, on May 4, the Army Chief held separate meetings with Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan bin Ali Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs, and Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Faisal bin Mohammed Al Thani, Minister of State for Interior Affairs.
Their discussions focused on enhancing defence cooperation, developing the defence industry, and exploring avenues for the exchange of skilled manpower.
Later the same day, the Army Chief also met with Lieutenant General Jassim bin Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Mannai, Chief of Staff of the Qatar Armed Forces.
