Pakistan's military spokesperson Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said the death toll in Indian air strikes and firing along the Kashmir Line of Control stood at 26, while 46 others were injured, reports BBC.
The toll from cross-border shelling on the Indian side has risen to 10, a top army official has confirmed to the BBC.
At a briefing earlier today, an Indian army officer said they had "no reports of civilian casualties in Pakistan".
All the deaths in India have been reported from Poonch district, which lies near LoC- the de-facto border between India and Pakistan.
At least 32 people have been injured in the violence, which began after India launched a series of air strikes on Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir earlier today.
