Derailment: Dhaka’s rail links with Ctg, Sylhet restored after 2hrs

Rail communications between Dhaka and the eastern regions, including Chattogram and Sylhet, were disrupted for two hours on Saturday morning following the derailment of a carriage at Brahmanbaria Railway Station, reports UNB.
The Cox's Bazar-bound Cox's Bazar Express veered off the tracks around 6:10 am, halting all train movements through the busy corridor, said Jashim Uddin, the station master of Brahmanbaria.
A relief train was dispatched to the scene which managed to remove the derailed bogie, restoring partial service by 8:30am.
"Train movement on the up line has resumed, but it will take some more time for full restoration of the down line," the station master added.
This incident followed an earlier derailment at the same station on Friday night, when a coach of a freight train from Chattogram went off the tracks around 10:15 pm, suspending train operations between Dhaka and several parts of the country.
Train services resumed on Saturday morning after another relief train from Akhaura cleared the damaged freight coach, railway officials confirmed.
No casualties were reported in either incident.
