River ports asked to hoist cautionary signal no-1

River ports have been asked to hoist cautionary signal number one as rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary west/north-westerly gusty or squally winds are likely to occur in different parts of the country, reports BSS.
The warning for inland river ports will remain valid until 6pm on Wednesday, according to a bulletin issued by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
"Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary west/north-westerly gusty or squally winds with speeds of 45–60 kph are likely to occur over the regions of Rangpur, Mymensingh, Cumilla, Noakhali, Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, and Sylhet, where river ports shall hoist cautionary signal number one," the Met Office bulletin said.
