ENGRO Eyes Bangladesh for New Business Opportunities

Abdul Samad Dawood, CEO of Engro Holdings of Pakistan, met with Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus at the State Guest House Jamuna on Thursday to explore potential investments in Bangladesh.
The meeting, held during the four-day Bangladesh Investment Summit hosted by the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), focused on prospects in the telecommunications and energy sectors, according to a post of the official Facebook page of the chief adviser.
"We are excited about the potential in Bangladesh's telecommunications sector and see great promise in partnering to distribute gas from Bhola to support industrial growth," Dawood said, highlighting Engro's ambition to broaden its footprint in a rapidly developing market.
Chief Adviser Yunus welcomed the interest, emphasizing the importance of sustainable, long-term projects designed to improve the lives of Bangladesh's people. "We must focus on initiatives that bring lasting benefits to our communities," he said, inviting Engro to return soon to further explore collaborative opportunities across various sectors.
The meeting also included Chief Adviser's Special Envoy for International Affairs Lutfey Siddiqi, SDG Coordinator Lamiya Morshed, and Principal Secretary Sirajuddin Sathi, underscoring Bangladesh's commitment to welcoming global investors.
